AS I HEAR IT.

A Noisy Neighbour: I never invited him in, but he came anyway.
I live in a 1930's upstairs flat with no sound insulation.
On Friday the 21 January my neighbour put on his music before he went out on the town.
He started in his bedroom, which is directly below mine.
All I could hear was the THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, THUMP of the beat, as it drifted up.
Did not go with the T.V. show I was watching.
He then moved his music to the kitchen and turned it up louder.
I went in to start cooking my evening meal, I had to walk out as it was too loud for me.
Once he left the place was peaceful and I got to cook my meal.

At 03:28 Saturday morning, the down stairs front door slammed.  My neighbour had returned.  I could hear him as he staggered down his hall.

I was still awake an hour later.
I did go to sleep eventually.  The thing is I know he can be quiet and can play his music at a level where I don't hear it.
So why can't he do it all the time.  I just don't get it.
My room is MY PERSONEL SPACE NOT HIS.
I have not played my own music in my room since the summer of 2007.

I had been listening to my music on my portable CD player, when he came and put his music on.
It drowned out mine, obliterated it.  I can no longer listen to my music for fear the it will be drowned out again.  I have CD's I have never listened to and hypnosis CD's I can't listen to as I don't want to get interrupted in the middle of.
The only place I can listen to my music is my car, that is until my radio stopped working.
I have no music in my life right now, so sad.  Miss the Monkees, Boyce & Hart.
May be I should get a hut in the garden.  A place to call my own, a place to sit and meditate.  A PLACE FILLED WITH MY MUSIC....
